Birth Years 2011 - 2016

What Makes Us Different

Our focus is deliberate skill development, not just running drills for the sake of it. Every drill is designed with in-game application in mind, helping players understand why they’re doing what they’re doing and how it directly applies to real-game situations. Each session builds on the previous one, creating a progressive and structured development path throughout the camp.

Skill Focus Areas

  • Edge control and stride efficiency
  • Weight shifts and speed changes
  • Puck handling under pressure
  • Push/pull shooting techniques
  • Slip passes and hook passes
  • Game-speed decision making

By the end of the camp, we are confident that players will leave with enhanced skills, a greater hockey IQ, and the confidence to apply what they’ve learned in real-game scenarios.

About the Coaches

Davis Ross

Davis Ross - Throughout my hockey career, I’ve played on several high-level teams and been coached by some great coaches. I’ve learned a lot from my experiences—both successes and challenges. I look forward to sharing what I’ve learned with the next generation of local youth hockey players.

I started playing mites at the Galactic Ice Rink for the Trackers. I progressed to the Hershey Jr Bears, where I played up two birth years in my squirt years. Going into peewee, I joined the Pens Elite and represented Team PA at the Brick tournament in Edmonton, BC. I played four seasons with Pens Elite, including attending the infamous PeeWee Quebec tournament. In my last season before Bantam, I was selected to participate in the prestigious STX 68 in Chicago. I concluded my youth career with the Long Island Gulls, finishing as the runner-up in the Tier 1 national championship.

Following that season, I attended Cushing Academy to complete my high school education before entering junior hockey. At Cushing, I was part of a near-undefeated team at the top level of New England Prep School hockey, ending the Elite 8 runner-ups. Following Cushing, I entered junior hockey with the Johnstown Tomahawks, where we finished fourth in our division and I earned recognition as the PA Lottery Player of the Week.

After dealing with some head injuries and a changing college hockey landscape, I made the tough decision to end my competitive hockey career and pursue a future at Penn State. I enjoy using my career’s worth of knowledge and skills to help the next generation improve.

Frankie Hipp

Frankie Hipp - Frankie Hipp brings high-level playing experience and a deep foundation in skating to the Next Level Development Camp. A product of Central Pennsylvania hockey, Frankie played in the prestigious Quebec International Pee-Wee Tournament for two years and developed through top-tier programs including Pittsburgh Penguins Elite and the Valley Forge Minutemen. He won District Championships with both teams, captured an AYHL title with the Minutemen, and was part of a USPHL Championship team with the Palmyra Black Knights.

Frankie competed at the Elite 16U level as an underager before going on to play three seasons of prep school hockey, where he served as team captain and led his team in both goals and points. He continued his career at the junior level, first in the NAHL with the Johnstown Tomahawks and then in the NCDC with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights.

A significant strength of Frankie’s game has always been his skating—an area of expertise he developed under the mentorship of his father, one of the most well-known and respected skating coaches in the region. His dad has trained many of the top players to emerge from the area, and that influence has shaped Frankie’s own smooth, efficient stride and edge control, which he now passes on to the next generation of players.

At camp, Frankie focuses on building strong technical foundations while keeping the game competitive and fun. He’s excited to work with players who are serious about improving and to help them take their game to the next level.

Andrew Hipp - Andrew is a native of State College with a lifelong dedication to hockey and athletic development. He began playing travel hockey at age 7. He progressed through the Altoona and Hershey youth programs before competing in three seasons of Midget AAA and another three seasons of Junior A hockey. A highlight of his playing career came in 2012 when he helped lead the Hershey Quebec team to a Pee-Wee World Championship.

Since retiring from competitive play, Andrew has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Penn State University, where he developed a strong foundation in movement science, biomechanics, and athletic performance. He now applies that knowledge to off-ice training, specializing in movement efficiency, injury prevention, and performance conditioning. He also actively competes in CrossFit, further enhancing his understanding of strength and conditioning for athletes.

Andrew began coaching at age 13 as a Coaches’ Assistant with Hershey Quebec and has since remained deeply involved in player development. His coaching philosophy centers on building a strong skating foundation with a focus on stride mechanics, edge control, and overall hockey IQ. He blends on-ice instruction with off-ice performance training to create a comprehensive developmental experience for players.

Passionate about elevating the level of play in the area, Andrew is committed to helping young athletes grow not only in their skills but also in confidence and a love for the game. His goal is to create a high-energy, supportive environment where players can hone their abilities, form lasting friendships, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Andrew is especially excited to be part of the Next Level Development Camp, where he looks forward to working with motivated athletes, sharing his knowledge, and helping each player reach their full potential both on and off the ice.
